What Is It?
Hydrafacial is a mild non-invasive, non-surgical treatment which causes minimal damage to the surface of the skin and is designed to enhance the skin by directly targeting free radical damage. This is the newest technology that has replaced microdermabrasion. It is a non-laser procedure that can improve fine lines, wrinkles, remove blackheads and impurities, and can also achieve great results with hyperpigmentation, making your skin instantly smoother and clearer. It is safe for all skin types (including sensitive skin) and shows immediate results. Hydrafacial can treat the face, neck, chest, décolletage and hands. It is ideal for patients with mild sun-damage or post-Fraxel patients and can maintain the results you receive from lasers.
The fact that there is no downtime and very little discomfort does not mean it isn’t effective. This unique treatment combines four steps into one thirty minute appointment. Hydrafacial:
Targets oily skin and treats acne
Removes dead skin and blackheads
Reduces pore size
Protects against free radical damage
Produces a glowing complexion
What to expect during the procedure?
Hydrafacial is targeted to your individual skin so a specific treatment kit will be chosen for you. It is a four-step process that includes:
The nurse will begin by thoroughly cleansing your face and will then perform an exfoliation using the patented handpiece and Hydrapeel tip. The abrasive edge of the tip effectively removes dead skin cells and other pore clogging debris, revealing healthy, new skin.
Next, a peel is chosen specifically for your skin and applied.
Automated extractions are carried out using a vortex suction system which thoroughly cleans out the pores
And finally, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid are infused into the skin to nourish and protect.
How long will the procedure take?
Hydrafacial takes approximately 30 minutes.
What to expect after the treatment?
Directly after the treatment it is normal to experience redness. This generally disappears within an hour, however may last slightly longer. It is normal to experience dryness and flakiness in the days after treatment. This will usually begin approximately 48 hours after the procedure and will last approximately 2 days. Not everyone peels from having a light skin peel, but if you do it should subside within 4 days.
